What is Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA)?

Definition:​

-Functional Behavior Assessment is a systematic process that involves gathering information to understand the function or purpose of a behavior.​

  • Importance in behavior analysis​

-FBA helps identify the underlying reasons for problem behavior and guides the development of effective behavior intervention strategies.

What is a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP)?

What is Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA)?

Definition:​

A systematic and individualized plan that outlines the strategies and supports to address problem behavior and promote appropriate behavior.​

Purpose: ​

The primary goals of a BIP are to reduce problem behavior and increase appropriate behavior by targeting the function(s) of the behavior.
